About Lama Jigme

    Lama Jigme was born in Eastern Bhutan in 1971. His grandfather was a Lama of both Nyingmapa and Drukpa Kagyu Traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

    At the age of 12, Lama Jigme entered the Samdrub Darjay-Choling monastery of His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche in Sonada, located at the District of Darjeeling,West Bengal, India. After successfully completing his studies, Lama Jigme received the whole Transmission of two schools, Karma Kagyu and Shangpa Kagyu of Tibetan Buddhism from the first H.E Kalu Rinpoche himself. He also completed extensive studies on Buddhism.

    At 19 age, he started the traditional three years and three months retreat in order to practice the Six Yogas of Naropa and Niguma as well as the Mahamudra, under the Supervision of the First H.E Kalu Rinpoche, Bokar Rinpoche and the retreat master Venerable Lama Lorang Rinpoche. Following his retreat activities and after receiving the Lama Degree, Lama Jigme took on several monastery responsibilities, such as giving religious instruction to the younger monks, administering the Monastery of Salugara, which is the branch monastery of Sonada. He has also given a number of Buddhism Teachings in Europe.

    His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche, Venerable Bokar Rinpoche and late Lama Gyeltshen Father to the present Kalu Rinpoche who was in charge of all Dharma Centers found by H.E Kalu Rinpoche throughout the world, assigned Lama Jigme to be the resident Lama Buddhist Center Director and a Representative of H.E Kalu Rinpoche in Brazil.

    After two years, Lama Jigme moved to California, and has resided in Los Angeles since 2001. He has been a practitioner of this form of Healing-Energy and Yoga massage since 1991, trained in India to perform Energy Healing and Yoga Massage by His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche. Kalu Rinpoche, who was a renowned Tibetan Buddhist Master and Practitioner of Tibetan Medicine.
